APC State Congresses: APC Chieftain urges Edo APC to be united.
A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Edo State chapter, Prince Kelly Udebhulu, has emphasized the need for unity and discipline amongst its party leaders and members, stating further that it is the only way to peaceful coexistence and longevity of the party .
Prince Udebhulu, who was formerly announced a consensus candidate of the party, during the 2018 local government election primaries, held in Esan West Council area of the state, before he was shortchanged, made this assertion. Prince Udebhulu further observed that his patience and commitment to the party, if replicated by other party faithfuls, could help to stop intra-party squabbles and put the party on the path of progress.
Prince Udebhulu said that Edo APC leaders and members must sheathe individual and selfish tendencies and instead consolidate on the party’s overwhelming acceptability in the state and beyond, particularly as the party should learn a useful lesson from the bitter internal crisis currently ravaging the State chapter of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Udebhulu further ascribed as unprecedented success the just-concluded congresses of the party at the ward, local government and state levels in the state, regarding it as the acts of God and comportment of party leaders and members
Udebhulu thereby congratulated the newly elected Chairman of the party in Edo State, Col. David Imuse (rtd) and other state executives, urging them not to relent until the ruling PDP government is deposed.
He also advised the newly elected party executives to act fast by reconciling aggrieved party members and bring about proper harmonization or integration of the party actions, to forestall internal wranglings that may erupt from the just-concluded congresses.
On the issue of zoning the governorship ticket of the APC among the three senatorial districts of the state, ahead of the 2024 election, Udebhulu said despite that there is no zoning formula in the party’s constitution, it would be a matter of equity and fair play and in the best interest of the party to zone its gubernatorial seat to the Edo central senatorial district.
